Wedding documents
Italian law provides three different kind of wedding ceremonies:
-
civil wedding
-
catholic wedding
-
religious wedding (not Catholic)
In order to get married, there are some bureaucratic steps the couple has to follow carefully, mostly if they live outside Versilia .
WishVersilia will provide you assistance in the compulsory bureaucratic procedure to follow, either for a civil or a religious ceremony, helping you to get informations and prepare the required documents.
Wedding for foreign couples
In order to get married you need to have a valid passport. Non-EU Citizens need an authorization issued by their own Embassy or Consulate and have it signed and authenticated in the Italian Prefettura;
if you live in Italy, you need certificate of domicile and a certificate stating you're not married yet. If you choose a Catholic Ceremony you need Baptism and Confirmation Certificates as also a certificate of attendance of the pre-nuptial course.
Apostolic Benediction
Practising Catholics who choose a Catholic ceremony must know that they could receive a very special gift on the occasion of their wedding: the Apostolic Benedition, that is to say, a written Papal Blessing.
WishVersilia will be glad to offer this gift to the couple that may be willing to receive it.
